Jordan registers 91 COVID deaths, 4042 infections
The Ministry of Health announced that 91 Covid-19 fatalities and 4,042 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 7,130 and the caseload to 626,875.
The new cases include 1757 in Amman, 929 in Irbid, including 63 in Ramtha, 222 in Zarqa, 207 in Madaba, 181 in Mafraq, 158 in Jerash, 144 in Tafila, 133 in Balqaa, 94 in Aqaba, 94 in Ajloun, 82 in Karak and 41 in Maan, including one case in Petra, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The number of hospitalizations today stood at 321, while 179 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.
The statement also indicated that occupancy of the total ICU bed capacity has hit 74%, 77%, and 45% in the northern, central and southern regions, respectively.
With regard to testing, 28,827 tests were conducted Saturday, 14.02 percent of which were positive.
Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of tests administered has increased to 6,030,272, the joint statement noted.
