Jordan records 7 Covid-19 fatalities, 934 new cases on Sunday-MoH
The Ministry of Health announced 7 Covid-19 fatalities and 934 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Sunday, bringing the death toll to 4,224 and the caseload to 320, 453.
The new infections comprised 539 cases in the capital, Amman, 148 in Irbid, including 16 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 82 in Balqa, 30 in Jerash, 29 in Mafraq, 23 in Zarqa, 20 in Aqaba, 19 in Ajloun, 16 in Madaba, 12 in Tafila, 9 in Karak, and 7in Ma’an , of which 1 in southern Petra region, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The number of patients who were admitted to hospitals today stood at 61, while 46 cases have recovered and discharged, the statement added.
According to the brief, the total number of recoveries recorded Sunday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 1,416, bringing the total to 307,707 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 404, including 69 on ventilators.
The statement also indicated that the number of confirmed and suspected cases on ICU beds has reached 131, or 14% of the total ICU bed capacity.
With regard to testing, 19,808 tests were conducted Sunday, 4.72 percent of which were positive.
Since last March, the total number of tests administered has increased to 3,711,158, the joint statement noted.
