Jordan records 26 COVID-19 fatalities, 1, 007 new cases on Thursday-MoH

The Ministry of Health announced 26 Covid-19 fatalities and 1,007 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 9,014 and the caseload to 717, 930.

The statement added that there are currently 10, 715 cases on Thursday countrywide.

The new infections comprised 359 cases in the capital, Amman, 150 in Irbid, including 40 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 132 in Zarqa, 64 in Balqa, 62 in Karak, 53 in Mafraq, 51 in Ma’an, including 11 in southern Petra region, 41 in Aqaba, 40 in Jerash, 25 in Tafileh, 23 in Madaba, and 7 in Ajloun, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

The number of patients who were admitted to hospitals today stood at 104, while 146 cases have recovered and discharged, the statement added.

According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded Thursday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 1, 677 bringing the total to 698,201 since the outbreak began.

Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 1,078.

The statement also indicated that occupancy of ICU beds in the northern, central and southern regions, has reached 35%, 38%, and 15%, respectively.

With regard to testing, 16, 841 tests were conducted Thursday, 5.98 percent of which were positive.

Since last March, the total number of tests administered has increased to 6,798, 116, the joint statement noted.
