Jordan records 14 COVID-19 fatalities, 937 new cases on Thursday-MoH
The Ministry of Health announced 14 Covid-19 fatalities and 937 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 9, 328 and the caseload to 728, 549.
The new infections comprised 357 cases in the capital, Amman, 165 in Zarqa, 86 in Irbid, including 4 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 65 in Balqa, 56 in Mafraq, 46 in Karak, 39 in Ajloun, 36 in Ma’an , including 5 in Petra region, 26 in Jerash, 23 in Tafileh, 22 in Aqaba, and 16 in Madaba, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The statement added that there are currently 10, 619 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan.
The number of hospitalizations today stood at 83, while 80 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.
According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded Thursday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 702, bringing the total to 708,602 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 630.
The statement also indicated that occupancy of the ICU bed capacity has hit 29%, 23%, and 7%, in the northern, central, and southern regions, respectively.
With regard to testing, 26,307 tests were conducted Thursday, 3.56 percent of which were positive.
Since March, 2020, the total number of tests administered has increased to 7,060,976, the joint statement noted.
