Jordan partakes in Arab justice ministers council session

A Jordanian delegation Monday partook in the 37th session of the Arab Justice Ministers Council in the Arab League HQ in Cairo, Egypt.

The meeting, chaired by Algeria’s justice minister, discussed enhancing regional and international cooperation on law and judiciary, as well as coordination amongst member states on combatting terrorism.

The meeting also discussed standardising Arab legislation, antiterrorism efforts, Arab convention to combat corruption, refugees and displaced populations in the region. It was also a platform for Arab justice ministers to highlight their countries’ efforts during the pandemic and on raising the awareness of law and judiciary.

The Council certified several inter-regional agreements: the Arab agreement on combatting terrorism and its implementation, the Arab agreement on encountering cybercrime and the Arab agreement to encounter money laundering and funding terrorism.

The Jordanian delegation was led by Amjad Adaileh, Jordan’s ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the pan-Arab organisation.
