Jordan, Lebanon talk agricultural exchange issues

Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat on Wednesday discussed with a Lebanese delegation a number of common issues related to agricultural exchanges between the two countries.

During his meeting with General Director of the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture, Louis Lahoud, Hneifat stressed the “deep-rooted” relations between the two countries, and voiced Jordan’s “constant” endeavor to support Lebanon in all crises.

The process of agricultural commodity exchange between the two countries is proceeding “smoothly and conveniently,” Hneifat said.

Lahoud lauded outcomes of the quadripartite meeting held in Amman, which brought together agriculture ministers of Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Jordan.

Preparation of a four-way memorandum of understanding (MoU) for agricultural cooperation is hoped to be inked during the meeting, Lahoud said, stressing the continued cooperation with Jordan in the agricultural field.
