Jordan, Iraq keen to enhance trade cooperation, overcome obstacles
Amman, The Jordanian-Iraqi Joint Committee concluded its 28th session in Amman on Thursday, chaired by Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Dr. Tariq Hammouri, and Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Saleh Jubouri.
During the two-day meetings, the committee reached mechanisms to accelerate measures to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially in the economic area, and to best benefit from the agreements and understandings signed between them to serve common interests.
The Technical Committee’s meetings, chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply,Yusuf Shamali and his Iraqi counterpart, Walid Helou, expressed the importance of moving forward with firm steps towards opening broad cooperation prospects to achieve the common interests in various fields.
In this light, the two sides agreed to continue joint coordination at Arab, regional and international forums, in a bid to achieving their common interests.
Hammouri said: “The joint committee has played a major role in promoting and developing relations of economic and trade cooperation between our two countries”.
During this meeting, Hammouri announced the two sides have reached understandings on important and strategic issues, long sought to be solved and also set common and permanent rules for cooperation.
