Jordan condemns Israel forced displacement of Palestinians

Jordan Monday condemned the Israeli authorities’ attempt to displace a Palestinian family from their home in Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, Jerusalem.

Haitham Abu Afoul, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, said the forced displacement of Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem is a “flagrant” violation of international law.

Abu Alfoul that the Israeli authorities are obliged under the international law to protect the rights of Palestinians to their homes and property.

He added that the continued Israeli violations, not the least of which are confiscating lands, displacing and the demolition of homes, entrench the occupation and undermine the two-state solution.
