JEDCO, JRF renew partnership agreement

Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) and Jordan River Foundation (JRF) on Wednesday signed an agreement to renew their joint partnership to implement activities to develop and support savings and credit groups, associations and provide mutual technical support. The agreement came as part of the Rural Economic Growth and Employment Project (REGEP) funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Dutch government and implemented by JEDCO. According to a JEDCO statement, the agreement signed by its CEO, Abdel Fattah Kayed, and JRF Director, Anam Buraishi, targets youth, women and farmers in Jordan’s governorates, as part of a series of JEDCO- implemented projects. The projects focus on training rural areas’ people and providing productive and income-generating job opportunities to reduce poverty and unemployment and direct small projects nationwide to achieve more productivity and development, the statement said. Under the agreement, the JRF will develop and support savings groups by launching training tools, holding awareness sessions, picking participants to establish 170 new groups to build their capacities, and implement training programs on the project management and sustainability fields.
