JCD imposes fees on Syrian trucks

Amman, Aug. 28 (Petra) — The Jordan Customs Department (JCD) Wednesday said that the Council of Ministers had imposed an JOD80 fee in lieu of subsidizing (diesel fuel) on Syrian trucks and refrigerator trucks upon entering the Kingdom.

The JCD explained that the decision comes because Syrian side did not comply with the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Jordanian on October 26, 2009 regarding fees and exemptions granted to Jordanian and Syrian trucks.

The Syrian side had imposed a USD 80 fee in lieu of subsidizing diesel fuel on Jordanian trucks and refrigerator trucks entering Syria.
