The Israeli occupation authorities have turned the occupied city of East Jerusalem into military barracks, deploying hundreds of members in the Old City and the surrounding area, imposed restrictions on Jerusalemites, and closed several roads under the pretext of the Jewish holidays “Yom Kippur”.
Eyewitnesses told Petra’s reporter in Ramallah that the occupation forces set up concrete and iron barriers at the road leading to street No.1, and closed the Beit Hanina Bridge area as well as restricted the citizens’ movement.
Many markets in the Old City of Jerusalem were closed as al-Qattanin market, in which traders were forced to close their shops completely for the same reason.
