Irbid reports new Covid-19 infection
A young woman was tested positive with the coronavirus (Covid-19), in the northern governorate of Irbid on Tuesday evening, announced governor Radwan Atoum.
Atoum, who is also head of Irbid’s coronavirus crisis cell management committee, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the infection belongs to an eighteen-year-old girl who lives in a neighborhood near an area where a previous infection was announced, indicating that the five-storey building in which the girl lived was isolated.
Director of Irbid Health Directorate, Riyadh Al-Shiyab, suggested that the girl’s infection was as a result of her contact with a case that was announced earlier in a nearby area.
He pointed out that the girl’s sample is one of the random samples that were collected in various regions of the governorate.
By recording this infection, Irbid has broken a series of zero-case infections with the coronavirus that lasted for five consecutive days.
