Iraqi interior minister lauds depth of bilateral ties
Iraqi Interior Minister, Qassem al-Araji, affirmed the depth and strength of the Jordanian-Iraqi relations and the development they have witnessed in various fields.
In a press conference at the Iraqi embassy here on Monday, he affirmed Bagdad’s appreciation to Jordan’s support for Iraq’s security, stability and efforts to fight terrorism and terrorist gangs.
He said the opening of border Trebil crossing has reflected positively on the swift trade flow between the two countries as security is fully guaranteed.
He described his visit to Jordan as “crucial” to foster existing relations and to discuss a number of common security, political and economic issues.
“My visit was successful and constructive, during which the two sides agreed to develop the border Trebil crossing with international standards, and the formation of a joint committee to oversee border security was also high on talks,” he added.
Before talking to the press, Araji met the Iraqi community in Amman at the embassy.
