Iraq denounces Israeli aggression against Gaza
Baghdad, Iraq on Monday condemned the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip and called on the United Nations to immediately intervene, spokesperson of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry Ahmad Sahaf said in a statement.
“Iraq condemns Israeli’s aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, causing the loss of life of many Palestinians and the destruction of the infrastructure,” he said, adding that “Iraq reaffirms its supportive position toward the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights to end the occupation and bring an end to the repeated assaults.”
Iraq also called on the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to hold emergency meetings to discuss the ramifications of the Israeli aggression and come up with practical solutions that that will end the “series of aggressions against and killing of our brethren in Palestine,” the statement read.
Moreover, it underscored the necessity to push to criminalize the Israeli latest aggression and protect Palestinian lives and properties.
