Iran records 1,100 COVID-19 cases, 71 fatalities

Amman, Iran’s Health Ministry confirmed Tuesday more than 1,100 COVID-19 cases and 71 deaths, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Kianoush Jahanpour, the ministry’s spokesperson said that the COVID-19 death toll surpassed 5,800, the highest in the Middle East, as the total caseload hit 92,600.

On a more positive note, Jahanpour highlighted that since the outbreak, more than 72,000 patients have recovered.
