Interior Minister meets Canadian envoy
Interior Minister Salama Hammad on Wednesday discussed with the Canadian Ambassador Donica Pottie means of boosting bilateral cooperation and partnership in the economic, political and security fields, and key regional developments.
During the meeting, Hammad stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation to achieve common interests in the security field, and exchanging information and expertise on combating crime.
He pointed out Jordan and Canada ties are “close,” and they are keen for building on them to achieve common aspirations.
On the refugee crisis, the minister said Jordan is dealing with refugees, in accordance with the humanitarian principles and legislations in force.
For her part, the Canadian envoy pointed to the “depth and strength of the historic relations” between the two countries, voicing keenness to continue developing them.
The two sides agreed to continue enhancing cooperation in various fields, and maintaining communication and coordination to serve their interests.
