Inspection law covers all sectors: Ministry

Amman, The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply said the law on monitoring and inspection of economic activities covers industrial, commercial, agricultural, tourism, craft, service, health and information technology activities.

The law aims to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency and transparency of inspections by reducing the overlap and duplication of powers of the official authorities concerned with the monitoring and inspection of economic activities, as well as ensuring that best practices are followed in respect of all inspection procedures, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

In order to achieve the fundamental objective of this law, a number of the powers of official authorities have been modified and their roles rearranged in line with their mission set forth by the legislator, and also in line with the best practices in the scope of work of each of them, the ministry added.

According to the statement, the law and regulations issued for its purpose seek to improve the inspection ecosystem and development of economic activities, which reflects positively on the investment environment in the Kingdom and reduce the obvious overlap in the powers and competencies of the official bodies that carry out tasks of inspection of economic activities.
