Amman: The Indonesian authorities announced on Monday that at least 15 people were killed and 50 others are missing due to a landslide on one of the islands of the Indonesian archipelago after heavy rains.
A local television channel reported that the National Agency for Disaster Management said the disaster occurred in the Riau Islands.
Footage published by the authority showed that the mud from the landslide completely covered houses near a plateau on the island of Serasan, located between Borneo and Malaysia, noting that it would be difficult for rescue teams to get there.
