Head of the Jordan Exporters Association (JEA), Ahmad Khudari, highlighted the importance of the government decision to include Jordanian exports in 2021 within a program to support Jordanian exports to international markets.
In a statement, Khudari said the decision is a key step in terms of supporting exports and increasing their presence in international markets, especially with the start of their recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19.
He stressed that the national industry is one of the most important pillars in building the national economy in light of its contributions that reach more than 24 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP), in addition to hiring more than 254 thousand workers, while industrial exports contribute to more than 90 percent of the total national exports, with a value of up to JD5 billion annually.
The government had launched a program aimed at supporting industrial exports by giving exporters sums of money for their exports, at a rate of 3 percent for what is issued at the end of 2019 and for the second year, the percentage rises to 5 percent.
