House Palestine Committee to drum up world support to Jerusalem
Amman, Head of the House Palestine Committee, Yahia Saud, said the panel will kick off an international parliamentary tour to mobilize more international support for Jerusalem.
During the committee’s meeting on Sunday, he announced the first stations of the tour will be the Vatican, then Malaysia, and Indonesia, noting the committee discussed the results their visits to Istanbul and met with Turkish personalities and leaders.
Saud said the committee met Hamed Al-Ahmad, chairman of the Association of Parliamentarians for Jerusalem, a body that brings together different world countries, adding the committee supports the position of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Hashemite guardianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
He pointed out that the association has a tendency to open a branch in Asia, to include a number of Arab countries.
Saud said the committee also met with the Chairman of the Committee of Palestine in the Turkish Parliament and the Deputy Minister of Finance of Turkey, who in turn affirmed the full support of the Hashemite guardianship over the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.
