House Palestine Committee meets Italian panel chair
Amman, The Lower House Palestine Committee discussed with the Chair of the Foreign Affairs and European Union Affairs Committee in the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Marta Grande, ways of enhancing parliamentary cooperation on many issues of common concern.
During the meeting here yesterday, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Fabio Cassese, the committee’s head, Yahia Saud, stressed the importance of enhancing relations between Jordan and Italy in various fields, especially in the parliamentary domain.
Saud called on Italian MPs to visit Jordan to check firsthand on the conditions of the refugee camps and to discuss the latest developments in connection to the Palestinian cause.
For her part, Grande lauded the “deep-rooted, friendly” relations between the two countries, pointing to the continued Italian Parliament’s support to the rights of the Palestinian people.
Grande announced her readiness to fulfill Saud’s invitation soon, stressing the importance of providing the ground to enhance cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments to best serve joint interests and to contribute to restoring rights of the Palestinian people.
