House deputy speaker affirms Jordan’s key role towards the Palestinian cause
Amman, Acting Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Nassar Qaisi, reiterated Jordan’s pivotal role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II towards the Palestinian issue and the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.
Qaisi’s remarks came during his meeting on Monday with Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Fakhri Hamza and his accompanying delegation in the presence of the Chairman of the Jordanian-Indonesian Parliamentary Friendship Association, Chairman of the House Palestine Committee, Yahia Saud, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Jordan, Andy Rachmianto.
During the meeting, Qaisi lauded the deep friendship ties between Jordan and Indonesia and the advanced level they have reached, expressing hope to strengthen them at all levels, especially in the parliamentary, economic, investment, tourism and cultural domains.
The lawmaker praised Indonesia’s role in supporting Arab issues, especially the Palestinian cause.
On the regional developments, he said Jordan has suffered of the Middle East turmoil on behalf of the world, especially hosting waves of humanitarian refugees throughout history, the latest of which was the Syrian refugee crisis, which had adverse economic and social impacts on the Kingdom.
Qaisi noted Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and his wise policy, has managed to play a pivotal role in maintaining security and stability in the region and protecting its borders incessantly.
For his part, Hamza expressed his appreciation for Jordan’s role in the region, especially towards the Palestinian issue, adding his country shares these positions with Jordan and supports all initiatives aimed at to support the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem.
Indonesia takes advantage of the opportunities that will enhance relations with Jordan, Hamza noted, adding the mutual visits and meetings between the two friendly countries will bring closer the positions and views on many issues of common concern, especially the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem.
