Hebron Governor lauds Jordan’s role in supporting Palestinian cause
Hebron Governor, Jibreen Bakri, valued Jordan’s role in supporting the Palestinian cause at all levels, commending the “historic” relations between the two brotherly peoples.
The governor’s remarks came at a meeting on Wednesday, with a high-level Jordanian delegation, headed by Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat, in the presence of his Palestinian counterpart , Riyad Atari.
Bakri reviewed the latest developments in Hebron at various levels, especially continuous Israeli and settler attacks, which target the Palestinian agricultural sector, aimed to uproot trees and damage crops.
Meanwhile, Atari referred to establishment of Jordanian Palestinian Company for. Marketing Agricultural Products in the industrial zone south of Palestinian city of Jericho, adding that this project reflects shared Palestinian-Jordanian political will, which is a joint governmental company, launched in cooperation with the private sector.
For his part, Hneifat stressed Jordan’s “firm” position and its support for Palestinian people’s rights.
Hneifat also said the Jordanian-Palestinian company will contribute to enhancing joint trade exchange, supporting Palestine’s economy and boosting economic security.
At the end of the meeting, the Jordanian delegation toured Hebron Old City and Ibrahimi Mosque, and was briefed on Israel’s closure of streets, markets and shops and visited Junaidi Dairy Company and Al Aroub Agricultural Station.
