Gov’t supports increasing Jordanian exports competitiveness: Minister
Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Tariq Hammouri, said the government seeks to support the export capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by securing financing needs, reviewing legislation to advance promising sectors, and increasing exports.
Hammouri gave his remarks in a meeting organized by the Jordan Business Council (JBC) in Dubai, which was attended by Jordan’s Ambassador to the UAE Juma’ Abbadi, the acting consul general in Dubai and the Northern Emirates Shafa Amoush, a number of businessmen, representatives of entities participating in the 25th edition of the Gulfood 2020.
Hammouri underlined the need to continue supporting and facilitating procedures related to the registration and licensing of investment projects, and other procedures for investors, such as residency and licensing. As the government, through its endeavors and programs, will reach the desired developments and results in the next two years, which will ensure the end of most, if not all, obstacles facing investors and economic sectors, the minister added.
He said the industry sector includes 10 sub-sectors, and each sub-sector has its advantages, issues and recovery plan, pointing to the need to consider the legislative structure to amend laws related to stimulating economic sectors and meetings are continuing in this regard.
