Gov’t incentives to industrial sector support national economy: ACI president

Amman, President of the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI), Fathi Jaghbir, said incentives directed to the industrial sector, recently announced by the government, will contribute to supporting the national economy.

Speaking at the annual general meeting of the ACI general assembly, on Saturday, Jaghbir said the partnership between the ACI and the government is at its best at present, and there is coordination to resolve various issues and obstacles facing the industrial sector.

Following the implementation of the decision to stop the exemption of export profits last year, ACI board of directors has followed up with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply on issuing an alternative program to compensate industrialists, which resulted in a series of incentives recently approved by the government for the benefit of the sector, Jaghbir added.

He explained that the ACI has supported the participation of industrialists in a number of foreign and internal exhibitions and reserved pavilions in several exhibitions to showcase samples of small and medium industrial companies for the purposes of introducing their products, while seeking to get the right to organize Jordanian pavilions in international exhibitions which are highly popular, in order to reduce the cost of industrial participation in them.
