Gov’t follows up on all issues concern citizens, says minister
Amman, Minister of State for Media Affairs and the government spokesperson, Jumana Ghunaimat, stressed that the government is always open to media.
During a press conference at the Prime Ministry on Thursday, Ghunaimat said the government is following up on all challenges facing citizens and seeking at the same time to find solutions to such difficulties.
The minister reviewed a number of issues monitored by the government including the indebted women, student support fund and general pardon issue.
Commenting on the Prime Minister’s visit to Washington, the minister said the key issue for the premier is investment in Jordan as the Kingdom adopted a number of procedures in the legislative field to attract investment, in order to present a clear image in this domain to the international community.
On London Donor Conference, Ghunaimat said the conference will witness the participation of seven super power countries, as Jordan will present a wide range of projects at the conference to convince and attract investors to our country.
The EU deal to ease rules of origin for Jordanian exports now includes all companies across Jordan under new amendments only if they match the accredited standards, the minister said.
Commenting on receiving a request by Yemen to host peace talks, the minister said the kingdom has received a formal request to host the second round of negotiations between the Yemeni government and the Houthis and the government will seriously study the request.
Responding to a question on the Red Sea�Dead Sea Conveyance, the minister said such project comes within a wide range of projects to achieve water security in the Kingdom.
On the phosphate case and its prime suspect Walid Al Kurdi, the spokesperson said the government is seeking to bring the suspect through diplomatic and legal efforts.
Ties with Syria and Iraq were also figured high during the press conference, as the minister stressed the advanced ties with the two neighboring countries, and Jordan keenness to promote them in various fields.
