The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) on Tuesday launched the 12th annual “Amman is Our Home” campaign to maintain the capital’s general appearance.
“Maintaining the city’s [Amman] general appearance is a joint responsibility between the cadres of the Greater Amman Municipality and citizens,” underscored Yousef Shawarbeh, Amman Mayor during the launch, calling on citizens to refrain from throwing trash from vehicle windows or in public places.
The campaign, launched in cooperation with Zain Jordan, aims to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the city by distributing 100,000 environment friendly paper bags for vehicles and public transportation buses. Written on the bags are awareness-raising phrases for drivers urging them to preserve the environment and reduce littering.
