FM participates in Arab League’s ministerial session… 1st, final add

Safadi also said Jordan exerts efforts to protect sanctities in Jerusalem under the direct directives and follow-up of the Custodian of the Holy Places, His Majesty King Abdullah II.

 

“Our Arab security is indivisible,” Safadi said, adding: “Any threat to any country is a threat to the security of all of us. We must stand together in the face of any interference in our Arab affairs.”

 

On Syria, Safadi stressed the need to rejuvinate the Arab role in resolving the Syrian crisis, adding: “This catastrophe should end,” with a political solution, made by the Syrians, which preserves Syria’s unity, keeps terrorism away, restores its security, stability and regional role in the joint Arab action, and creates conditions for the voluntary return of refugees.

 

On Libya, Jordan supports “all efforts aimed at reaching a political solution to the Libyan crisis agreed upon by the Libyan brethren, preserving the unity, security and security of its Arab neighborhood, and stopping all forms of external interference in its affairs,” according to Safadi.

 

The FM also stressed the Kingdom’s support with “Lebanon in addressing consequences of the catastrophic explosion, and in the reconstruction process.”

 

Moreover, he voiced Jordan’s “absolute” support with Iraq and its leadership in the reconstruction efforts, strengthening the victory it has achieved against terrorism and protecting its security and sovereignty.

 

Safadi also affirmed Jordan’s support with Egypt and Sudan in their stance adhering to their water rights in the Nile River, expressing Amman’s full solidarity with Sudan in facing the consequences of the recent floods.

 

On pan-Arab solidarity to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, he stressed the importance of achieving Arab food security through deeper integration and coordination.

 

“The challenges are exacerbating and the need increases to a more effective joint Arab action,” he said, adding the Arab countries should protect their interests and stop the external interference that affects orchestrated pan-Arab positions and the complementary efforts in facing political, economic and social challenges.”
