FM: Israel must choose between just solution or continuation of conflict
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates AymanSafadi stressed that Israel must choose between a just and comprehensive solution which ends the occupation or the continuation of conflict that deepens violations against the legitimate rights of the Palestinians.
In press statements, the minister said that the agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel aiming at establishing normal ties is based on the Israeli actions towards the peace process.
Safadi said that If Israel deals with the agreement as an incentive to end the occupation and meet the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and an independent and viable state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, the region will advance towards achieving a just peace, but if Israel does not do so, the conflict will deepen, and explode as a threat to the security of the entire Middle East region.
Safadi stressed that a just and comprehensive peace, which constitutes an Arab strategic choice and a necessity for regional and international peace and security, will not be achieved as long as the occupation remains and as long as Israel continues its policies and procedures that kill the two-state solution and undermine the foundations of which the peace process was based.
Jordan’s top diplomat said that Amman supports any real effort that contributes to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ends the Israeli occupation and fulfills all the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people according to the two-state solution, and continues to work with brothers and friends to achieve a just peace that will not be permanent unless accepted by the peoples.
