Also, Safadi held talks with his Pakistani counterpart, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, during which they agreed to identify sectors that could contribute to increasing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, and to prepare for a broader meeting that would end in agreement on work programs and plans to achieve this.

The two ministers also discussed regional and international issues and cooperation in the context of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Safadi reiterated Jordan’s solidarity with Pakistan in dealing with the consequences of the unprecedented floods that hit the country recently.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister commended Jordan’s support for his country to deal eith the consequences of the floods, which caused great destruction and suffering, which reflects the strong relations between Jordan and Pakistan.

Safadi also met with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias on bilateral cooperation within the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Cyprus, and preparations for the summit meeting in Cyprus this month.

Safadi and Dendias stressed the importance of this cooperation, which would achieve broader economic, commercial and investment cooperation, and more comprehensive coordination on ways to address regional challenges.

Safadi also met with Josep Borrell, Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Safadi and Borrell discussed relations between Jordan and the European Union, and preparations for the seventh regional forum of the Union for the Mediterranean, which will be held in Barcelona this month, under the co-chairmanship of Jordan and the European Union.
