Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, on Thursday, called on the international community to halt the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.
Addressing, in New York, a UN General Assembly session to discuss the severe situation in the holy city of Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian territories and the UN efforts to halt the Israeli illegal practices, Safadi urged the UN to immediately move towards protecting its own charter and resolutions in this regard.
He also called on the international community to force Israel, as the occupying power, to stop breaching the international law, calling for a ceasefire there.
Earlier, Safadi met with his Arab counterparts to discuss halting the aggression against Gaza and with the UN secretary general along with Arab foreign ministers.
