FM: 4th Jordan-US MoU will support economic reform program

Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi said that the fourth US-Jordan Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership (MoU) for the years (2023-2029), which was signed in Washington yesterday, will contribute to supporting the economic reform program, adopted by the Kingdom, and the overall development process.

Safadi made his remarks in a meeting, held Friday in Washington, with US National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, Brett McGurk.

According to a statement issued Saturday by the Foreign Ministry, the two officials discussed bolstering the US-Jordan strategic partnership, and efforts to confront regional challenges to enhance security and stability in the region.

During the meeting, Safadi valued the US support to the Kingdom, underling the solidity of partnership between the two countries in various fields.

In addition, Safadi participated in a dialogue session organized by the Wilson Center for Research yesterday in Washington, which dealt with the Jordanian-US strategic partnership and prospects for enhancing it, the latest regional and international developments, and efforts to resolve crises.

In the session, the foreign minister said that peace will not be achieved in the region unless the (Israeli) occupation ends and the establishement of an independent Palestinian state on the pre-June 4, 1967 borders.
