A final communiqué was released at the conclusion of the trilateral summit in Cairo held by His Majesty King Abdullah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
In the communiqué, the three leaders reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause, stressing that just, comprehensive, and lasting peace, on the basis of the two-state solution, remains a strategic option.
The leaders also reaffirmed the importance of the historical Hashemite Custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Moreover, the communiqué called for maintaining efforts in pursuit of Palestinian national reconciliation.
