Fair weather, spotty showers forecast today

Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to be above annual average, so it will be moderate in most parts of the Kingdom, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba where it will be relatively hot, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

Clouds at various altitudes are also forecast to appear, with a chance for scattered showers in the morning hours over the eastern areas, while winds will be northeasterly to northwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD added.

The weather department warned of slippery roads in areas experiencing rain, and of poor visibility due to dust formation in the Badia.

Over the next two days, similar fair conditions will continue to persist, with partly cloudy skies and northwesterly moderate winds, the JMD predicted.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Wednesday will range between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 17C or even 14C in the southern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be hotter with mercury reaching a high of 36C and a low of 23C.
