Education Minister, British envoy discuss cooperation

Amman, Education Minister Tayseer Nueimi on Thursday discussed with the British Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation, namely in the field of education.

Nueimi stressed the importance of cooperation, which reflects the depth of ties, lauding the British government’s support to the education sector in Jordan.

He briefed the envoy on the development plans and programs implemented by the Ministry of Education in all areas, pointing to the educational services provided by the Jordanian government to refugee students.

He hailed the United Kingdom and donor countries’ contribution to support the educational process in Jordan.

During the meeting, Oakden praised the “distinguished relations” between his country and Jordan, affirming that the UK will continue to support the education sector in Jordan.

He also lauded the Kingdom’s humanitarian role in hosting refugees and providing appropriate educational services.
