Domestic revenues rise by 38% during 1st 5 months of 2021

Domestic revenues during the first five months of 2021 witnessed a rise of JD848.9 million, registering an increase of 38 percent compared with the same period in 2020, the Ministry of Finance announced on Monday.

In a statement, the ministry indicated that the rise comes from the tax collections which showed an increase by JD540.9 million, along with the non-tax revenues climbing by JD308 million, which reflects the positive effects on national economy despite difficulties.

The public expenditures went up by 10.1 percent during the first five months, with an increase of JD344.9 million compared with the same period of last year, as a result of the government’s re-disbursement of allowances and incentives to employees of the public sector and the armed forces.

“The public budget deficit dropped by JD461.8 million to reach JD636.4 million during the first five months of 2021,” the statement added.
