Defendants should submit defense in Salt oxygen outage case within 14- day period, court rules

Amman Magistrates Court decided to grant defendants in the oxygen outage case at the New Salt Public Hospital, 14 days to submit their defense evidence, per law.

In its 34th public session held on Sunday, the court approved the attorneys’ request for a two-week period to table their defense evidence.

According to a court’s ruling issued earlier, 13 defendants submitted their defense statements within 3 days.

During its previous sessions, the court concluded its hearing of 66 Public Prosecution witnesses, including the former Minister of Health, Dr. Nazir Obeidat, and a number of experts and forensic doctors.

To date, the Public Prosecution indicted 13 people on 10 counts of causing death, who pleaded not guilty at the court’s first session.
