Curfew hours amended, announces Hammouri
Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply on Tuesday, Tareq Hammouri, announced the amendment of the curfew hours to become from 12am for citizens, and 11pm for economic establishments, as of Saturday.
Hammouri, chairman of the work, production and supply chains committee, told the daily press brief at the Prime Ministry that this procedure comes upon the recommendation of the Health Minister after reviewing the coronavirus matrix of procedures.
This matrix, Hammouri added, showed that in case of reaching the blue status (moderate risk), the hours of the curfew start from 11pm, “which we had previously decided in agreement with the Health Minister and the Epidemiology Committee to amend, and we extended the hours of the curfew based on the stability of the epidemiological situation and the economic needs of various establishments.
“In light of the development of the epidemiological situation, the decision will be implemented as of Saturday,” Hammouri noted, stressing that the matrix will continue to be reviewed and applied according to the development of the epidemiological situation, in order to protect citizens, as well as intensify inspection tours of economic establishments.
