Culture minister, Tunisian ambassador discuss cooperation

Amman, Minister of Culture, Mohammad Abu Rumman, stressed the importance of hosting Tunisia as a guest of honor at the forthcoming Amman International Book Fair.

The minister’s remarks came during his meeting with Tunisian Ambassador to Jordan, Khaled al-Suhaili, during which the two sides discussed the prospects of cultural cooperation between the two countries.

The minister also stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two countries to ensure success of the Amman fair.

During the meeting, he stressed the importance of cooperation on all cultural levels, including developing, activating and expanding the management of national libraries, which includes important reservoirs of heritage.

For his part, al-Suhaili expressed appreciation for the selection of Tunisia as guest of honor at the Amman International Book Fair, stressing the deep-rooted relations between the two countries and commending Jordan’s experience in the management of the cultural sector’s activities.

The Tunisian envoy, moreover, praised Jordan’s experience in nurturing young talents through providing creative arts training to them and called for sharing this expertise on the Arab level.
