COVID kills 15 in Jordan, positive tests at 3.3 percent

COVID-19 killed 15 in Jordan in the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 9,357 and a total of 521 cases were recorded, pushing the caseload to some 729,700, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).

 

Breaking down Saturday’s tally, the MoH said in a statement 179 cases were recorded in Amman, 80 in Irbid, 68 in Zarqa, 38 in Balqa, 35 in Mafraq, 23 in Ajloun, 22 in Jerash, 21 in Karak, 21 in Maan, 17 in Tafilah, 13 in Aqaba and 4 in Madaba.

 

The MoH said in a press statement that some 37 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 80 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients receiving medical treatment in hospitals stands at 637.

 

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom hovers around 10,470, it added.

 

More than 709,870 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.

 

Around 3.3 percent of the 15,735 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive compared with 3.16 percent Friday.
