Cooler conditions, chances of rain forecast over weekend
Temperatures on Thursday are expected to become 2-3 degrees below average, creating moderate conditions in the hilly areas, the eastern plains and the Badia region, while it will remain hot in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, the Jordan Meteorological Department(JMD) said.
Clouds at low altitudes are also forecast with a weak chance for scattered showers in the northern parts of the country and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD added.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman, the northern and southern cities will hover around 30 degrees Celsius dropping down at night to 21, 23, and 20 respectively. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 41 degrees and lows standing at 29, the department added.
A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Friday, bringing moderate summer conditions in the hilly areas and eastern plains , while it will be relatively hot to hot in other parts of the Kingdom.
As for Saturday, mercury levels will return back to their annual average, bringing normal summer conditions across many parts of the country.
