Commission bans ‘Eternals’ from cinemas over inappropriate scenes

GeneralCommission bans 'Eternals' from cinemas over inappropriate scenes

The Jordan Media Commission (JMC) on Tuesday decided to ban Marvel’s Eternals movie from screening in local cinemas, after the film’s manufacturer and distributor refused to abide by the commission’s conditions.

According to a statement, the JMC said that the film manufacturer refused a request to delete a few scenes that do not comply with the Audiovisual Media Law, and refused to change the age rating.

The decision was based on the provisions of Article (7/b) of the Audiovisual Literature System and its Monitoring No. 63 of 2004 and its amendments, which states: “Any part of a literature that violates any of the censorship conditions stipulated in Article 4 of this system shall be banned from screening.”
