Cold weather forecast today with scattered showers

Temperatures on Sunday are expected to slightly drop, becoming around their annual average, and bringing relatively cold weather conditions in most parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Clouds will appear at different altitudes, with a chance for scattered showers in the northern region and some parts of the central region, with southwesterly moderate winds, picking up at times and stirring dust in the Badia.

The department warned of slippery roads in the areas experiencing rain, and of poor visibility in the highlands due to fog formation.

Similar weather conditions will continue on Monday, while Tuesday will see a slight rise in mercury levels with pleasant weather across the Kingdom.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across Jordan today will range between 17 and 15 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 7C or even 6C in the northern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be warmer with mercury reaching a high of 24C and a low of 15C.
