China launches new remote-sensing satellite

China early Wednesday launched a new remote-sensing satellite for commercial use, from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China’s Shanxi province.

The satellite “Red Flag-1 H9 ” was launched by a Long March-2D carrier rocket at 10 am Beijing time, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) said in a statement.

“The new satellite belongs to the Jilin-1 satellite family,” it added.
