Cabinet approves the newly-established investment ministry’s administrative bylaw

The Cabinet, in a session chaired by Prime Minister, Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, on Sunday endorsed the administrative bylaw 2021 of the newly-announced Ministry of Investment.

The bylaw follows a Royal decree appointing a Minister of Investment, defines the ministry’s tasks and powers, and sets an organizational structure that regulates its work and contact and coordination channels among its units.

In press remarks, the premier said, following the issuance of the Royal decree approving the latest ministerial reshuffle, that the government had established the Ministry of Investment to process all investment affairs, deal with issues realted to local, Arab and foreign investors, and set policies that stimulate investment and enhance competitiveness of Jordan’s main economic sectors.

The premier also noted the new ministry will bring under its umbrella all investment bodies in place.

The Council of Ministers also approved the amended National Fund for Sport and Youth Movement Support Bylaw 2021, which would activate the fund’s role to achieve its goals by granting its management committee the powers to approve criteria to provide support to Jordanian youth and sports entities.
