Maan, Police and civil defence crews in West Maan rescued a sick British tourist on Tuesday in a rugged terrain in the southern Shoubak district.
West Maan Police Director Col. Falah Majali told Petra that the police operations room had received a call that a female foreign tourist of the British nationality was in a rugged region in the highlands of Shoubak with a group and suffering from an illness and unable to continue the trek.
He added that police and civil defence teams moved in, and with the help of a local resident, found the tourist who had signs of fatigue and exhaustion, and transferred her to the Queen Rania Government Hospital, where she was reported in a good condition.
Majali said that the Public Security was in coordination with the concerned bodies in Petra and Shoubak and on standby to offer help to visitors in tourist attractions, hotels, resorts or tourist camps.
