Azerbaijan celebrates 28th independence anniversary
Amman, Monday marks the 28th independence anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani embassy in Amman said in a statement today that the “Declaration of independence that laid the legislative foundations of the democratic republic of Azerbaijan remains a highly important document for Azerbaijan.”
It said that Jordan was at the fore of the Arab countries who recognized the independence of the republic in 28 December, 1991, which was followed by establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries in 13 February, 1993.
The embassy pointed out to the Jordanian-Azerbaijani strong and deep-rooted ties which have been improving in light of the friendship between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Azerbaijani Ilham Aliyev.
It urged Jordanians to come to visit Azerbaijan that has turned into a tourism attraction.
