Ayla Inaugurates First Digital Lab in Aqaba

Ayla Oasis Development Company inaugurated the first digital educational lab in Jordan at the Al Asherah Mixed Secondary School-Aqaba, an initiative by Israa Zaitoun, under the patronage of the Secretary-General for the Educational Affairs of the Ministry of Education Dr. Nawaf Al Ajarmeh as a continuation of its Corporate Social Responsibility programs supporting education and the technical education sector.

The initiative aims to use modern digital technology to support the educational process by using augmented and virtual reality technologies, as the lab contributes to activating e-learning in one of the largest public schools in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.

The modern digital lab incorporates the winning initiative in the fourth season of the Takreem initiative 2021, 3D Hologram Merge Cube, which uses virtual and augmented reality technologies and has been proven to be effective in increasing students’ motivation in the educational process and linking it to the virtual reality in order to enrich their knowledge in understanding the educational content.

The lab will enrich the educational process in Al Asherah Mixed Secondary School, as students will be able to apply augmented and virtual reality to their learning by using the specialized CoSpaces Edu software.

On this occasion, Ayla’s Managing Director Sahl Dudin said, “We are proud to help our students in Aqaba by providing the latest technologies that help them learn. At Ayla, we choose not to stand by and watch teaching techniques develop without actively making use of these technologies that educate young people at all levels. This initiative reflects our interest in the education sector which has continued for more than a decade and a half.”

Dudin added, “Over the years, we have proven our commitment to the education sector and higher education in Jordan, and today we are moving to broader horizons that provide students and faculty members the means to develop skills and sharpen capabilities. This is an investment in our children that will reflect positively on our country’s future.”

In turn, Aqaba’s Director of Education Dr. Sumaya Al-Burdini thanked the Ayla family for this initiative, which benefits 1,100 male and female students from kindergarten to grade 10 in Al Asherah Mixed Secondary School, through modern technologies that provide an interactive digital environment with multiple uses that develop skills and improve results of the educational process.

Dr. Al-Burdini pointed to this partnership with Ayla as an example for private sector institutions urging them to circulate similar initiatives that leave a positive imprint in various aspects.

The launch of this lab reflects Ayla’s social responsibility strategy that is devoted to supporting education and youth sectors and touches upon the developmental needs of the local community, which reached the peak in the “Takreem Initiative” in a partnership between Ayla and the Directorate of Education in Aqaba Governorate since 2017 until now.

Ayla strongly believes in bringing desired and positive change, in cooperation with the main actors in the education and vocational training sector and global education, with the aim of achieving sustainable development and providing a distinctive environment in public schools.
