Awqaf minister meets Malaysian ambassador

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Wael Arabiyat on Tuesday praised the historical ties between Jordan and Malaysia during a meeting with Malaysian Ambassador to Jordan Datuk Jilid Bin Kuminding.

The minister reviewed efforts and activities of the ministry and other departments affiliated to it, especially the Zakat and Hajj funds.

Jordan he said, benefited from the Malaysian expertise when establishing the Hajj fund in 2013, as Malaysia was the first country that presented this idea at the world level.

The ambassador hailed the strong ties between Jordan and Malaysia, voicing his country’s support to the Hashemite custodianship of the holy sites in Jerusalem.
