Army chief, U.S. Central Command Commander discuss cooperation

Amman, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, on Monday held talks with Commander of the United States Central Command, Gen. Joseph Votel, and his accompanying delegation.

Freihat and Votel discussed the latest regional and international developments and means to enhance bilateral cooperation “to serve the best interests of the two countries”.

Votel was briefed about the development that border guards had witnessed, including the installation of solar systems at buildings, in addition to the results achieved in the restructuring of the Jordanian Armed Forces (Arab Army) and their positive impact on the nature of the units and their response time in different situations.

Votel commended the level of efficiency of the Jordanian border guards.
